Born and raised in Aruba with roots in Curaçao, these two islands are in my DNA. Since I moved to The Netherlands in the year 2000, each year a chasm started to grow between me and the islands.
Life there kept moving without me, while my life in The Netherlands changed me. Every time I go back to visit things have changed and I keep looking for a glimpse of the past. Looking for the ghost of who I once was and the ghosts of people long gone. I look for the past in the architecture, the people and nature. Looking for small details that carry me back to my youth.
